Help me identify this Guitar

Hi guys, I saw this guitar in shop in Malaysia, its an Ibanez RX. From looking at it the specs were:

22 frets
H-S-H (pickups had no markings)
Strat-style trem (gold hardware)
Has string trees at the headstock
Gotoh tuners (not sure if they were locking)
bolt-on neck

Did a google and checked the ibanez catalogs (this series was produced between 1994-1998) out of curiosity but some things were out of place.

1. The neck had a stripe at the back (like a strat skunk stripe), the catalogs said the neck was 1-piece so does the stripe still make it a one-piece?

2. Serial started with the prefix 'FC'. A search yielded forum threads that couldn't really explain why. A sticker on it said made in Japan. Of all the things, this is what I want to know the most.

It was selling for RM 1998 fyi.

does it have purplish flame top?
cos i saw one in a classified, but only for RM1000.
seller location in bangi.

1 Pc neck will always have a skunk stripe as the truss rod needs to be covered with something.

It just means that the neck was carved out of 1 piece of wood, and when the truss rod installed, you'd need to route a channel for it to go in.

Multi piece necks will mean that multiple layers of wood are formed into a board then formed into the neck.

If the fingerboard is not a capped on one, a route will still need to be channeled to fit the truss rod in.

Nope saw it in a Johor Bahru store, a store that sells a Les Paul Special II for RM1299.;) Regarding colour its was not your typical guitar colour, may have been purple. This series had different models with different prices so I just couldn't figure out which one, never seen one for sale here (soft) before.

But I still wanna know what a serial beginning with FC stands for.

i used to own an ibanez RX (RX40) but it's korean...

that should be an RX750 since you mentioned that it is H-S-H, equipped with gold hardware & has a skunk stripe. should the highest end model for the RX series (correct me if I'm wrong).

anyway, that price is decent but not cheap.

is that a chip off the body (near neck PU)?

this guitar is clearly from another era of Ibanez production. if it's functional then it might be worth considering.
