Help! Lots of buzz coming from bass : (

aha... that depends on the person who is doing it for you... and for him, it would probably depend on the complexity of the job.

for instance, i'd reckon that this kind of bass would be alot harder to shield:

but it's not too ex and it's worth it

Guys the buzz during jamming was really bad. The same kind that goes really loud until i cover the strings with my hand (human grounding). Suggestions? Shielding?

shielding, grounding, email lakland... :) also if your amp is 2-pin there's no difference because there's no path to ground for your bass anyway (except through your body)

open and see la...your grounding wire broke loose....also change your amp plug to 3 pin.
batolinis do not have this problem....

yeah just send your bass for wiring and shielding - the works

then at least if still got problem you can hound the guy who did it for you

the ground wire in my jazz bass came off and the noise became really problematic, especially on big rigs. i sent it to cherns for wiring + shielding. now i have peace of mind; if there's noise, it's not from the bass 8)

Cherns does wiring and shielding? What are the rates like for shielding? Cherns ill wait for a pm ;)

Email Dan (the owner) at Lakland. Their aftersales is supposed to be one of the best in the world and if judging by the amount of TB buzz about this, Dan himself takes a personal interest in making sure every single Lakland out there is problem free (even if you are not the original owner or are outside of USA).

Contacts for Dan and Kirk (Tech) are here: http://www.lakland.com/contact.htm

Also worth going to TB and asking the guys there. By sheer volume of the bassists (and Lakland owners) there, someone is bound to have had a similar experience and an answer for you.

Let us all know what happens/problem identification/solution. I think this is something that is not entirely uncommon. Plus I just got word that my Lakland is on the way and *touch wood* if the same thing happens to it, I'll want to know how to solve it ;)

yeah cherns does shielding now... i think i commando-ed his new service. he did a good job. you can pm him for a quote :)

Haven't got it yet. It's somewhere in Ohio now making its way over here via UPS and then DHL.

Glad that at least you're getting some attention personally from Lakland tech.

If the DJ's neck is similar to the one on the JO then your gonna be a happy man!
Yea Lakland Customer Service is pretty much top notch.

Aparently its a problem with the tone pots. So he sent some over, free of charge! Hows that for customer service! But now i wonder if its easy to wire up a tone pot.
