the 3rd string to my guitar, when played on the 6th 7th and 8th fret..causes the fret to rattle..creating the noise that the string is hitting on the fret??.is that a case of fret buzz or is that an indication for me to change strings?? it only happens to the 3rd string..the rest is fine...i have recently sent it for a setup..i dont know does playing too much causes this and stuff??

and does changing strings causes the intonation to be off again? and i have to start adjusting the bridge again??/

thanks...it would be great if i can get some good advice

changing strings cant cure fretbuzz

probably need to raise your action slightly.

but if the fretbuzz cant be heard through the amp ; it shouldnt be considered a problem (although its irritating and stuff)

its annoying as hell....the problem is i dunno where is the problem...
it couldnt be uneven frets because i recently got it refretted....

New strings having more tension might be the cure for fretbuzz , however in your case , a setup might be the secret cure. Care to share who did the refret?

Changing strings can help or worsen fretbuzz.

However, if you just had a refret - BRING THE GUITAR BACK TO THE TECH for adjustments.

Leaving a guitar to be setup by a tech is like asking a stranger to prepare your favourite meal - you need to guide the tech to get it done the way YOU LIKE IT.

Also, note - fret buzz and rattle are 2 different things. If the rattle doesn't come thru the amp, its not buzz.

it rattles but doesnt come through the amp...so what is this problem???.

Its fret rattle.

Rattle can be bad till it starts to choke your strings - but note, it still doesn't come out of the amp...

But you gotta live with rattle if you want lower action. Metal strings, metal frets, there will be rattle... its just how much you can live with.
