alright here is the deal. whenever i go jamming with my friends so far on 3 occasions, i will face this problem of feedback or buzzing sound with my guitar. initially i thought it was my old guitar problem so i decided to bring out my gibson studio but it still is giving me a headache. anyone has a solution? im using the line 6 m9 anyways. and the problem occurs when i have the distortion efx on. is it that my drive/gain is too high? or is it that my gibson is not shielded?

how are you running your distortion effect, are u stacking them? does the buzzing sound only occur when you are at your neck pickup only?
It is also possible your gibson is not shielded but im not too familiar with that, so i wont be able to advice you there.

im not too familiar with the efx so im not too sure what do you mean by stacked? i only recently got my m9 so yeah.

nope it doesnt buzz at home but i was thinking because i dont play that loud at home as compared to when im jamming.

going for another session soon so im hoping i could resolve this issue soon! thanks!

Stacking means using two or more distortions at the same time.

Well, just turn up the volume at home to check, don't have to play anything. Just plug in the guitar and see if there's noise as you turn it up.

Some of the high gain models on the M9 are quite noisy in my experience too, but still negligible when the whole band is playing / at gig levels. Make sure the AC adapter and wire aren't near your cables, and adjust the noise gate if necessary (under the main settings when you press the top left two switches).

Yes, it's possible that the distortion itself is the source of the noise. Like I said, some of the high gain models on the M9 are quite noisy. But it could also be amplifying some existing source of noise (power supply, cables, pickups, bad wiring, etc)

thats 2 separate problems
assuming you are describing the problems correctly
feedback is one
buzzing is another

Feedback could be gain too high, standing too near speakers, not muting properly, effect got internal loop ....
buzzing could be shielding problem, pickup problem, cable problem
