Help! From 9v to 18v conversion

Hey guys, I recently got a pedal thats 18v but have a 9v daisy chain going on. I did do some research and was about to go down to ebenex to get the godlyke power pump to get my voltage up from 9v up to 18v. Right now it seems that they and blackwood are out of stock.

Anyone has got an idea how i can power up my 18v pedal without breaking the bank and hopefully not needing to carry around a huge 18v adapter. (smtg to beef up the volts!)

Suggestions very much appreciated!

The charge pump is the only way to get 18v from a 9v daisy chain.
With a PP2 or BBE supacharger ..you can tap 2 outputs put em in series and get 18v using the special 'Y' cable.

Thanks man, i heard the Y cable only works if i have 2 isolated 9v supplies correct? I have another spare 9v adapter lying around. Any idea where i can get the Y cable from? It might work.

You can make your own actually .

power 1 ............power 2
+____ - connect+_____-

do the above on the effect end.

check local shops ...

That sounds really complicated but thanks for the tip. If anyone has got a godlyke power pump to let go please pm! Or if anyone knows where i can get one over here, excluding ebenex and blackwood.

if really need it urgently, just to try out before getting the charge pump, theres a way.

Check out fulltone site, theres a tech page in there, detailing the usage of 2 batt snap and 2 9v batt, connect the batt in series, to get 18v for pedal.

a few useful links if you want to buy a 9 to 18V conversion cable (Y cable)

Hi,

two useful links if you search for the above cable, and you do not want to or are not capable of wiring it yourselves.
Some power stations for instance T Rex Fueltank Junior and others have the cable amongst accessories. The first link is for those who want to buy it separately.

The third link is a comprehensive info on possible power supply solutions for your gear:

I bought my Y cable from Davis cos I just didn't wanna screw anything up by wiring it myself.. Quite a cheap purchase, just make sure you get the right type. I accidentally got a cable that kept voltage at 9v, but doubled the mA instead. Went back to Davis to exchange it without issue..

You should be able to tell if you've got the wrong cable if you unplug one of the isolated outputs, but the pedal still remains on. The pedal will turn off upon unplugging one output if you've got the right cable..

Hi. Sorry for reviving an old thread.

I'm looking for a 18V Y cable to power my OCD using the PP2 plus but I've search almost all of the local shops including Davis with no success. Anyone knows where can I get my hands on one?

Thanks!!

Ask TYMC, they offered to make a Y cable like that for me once
