i have used the powered speakers for SR. usually in hotel ballroom and they work just fine. the 1604 is quite a standard in small PA setup.

Greetings Mack,

Warm welcomes to soft, hope you can drop by often, as this site has high hits rate amongst the local music community. I'm sure you can gain plenty of insights of the local users.

I'm just another member of soft forum, I run a computer business, a jamming studio and a repair workshop by myself. I have being repairing amps and such for the past couple of years.

Personally, I have not being in this industry for long, but Mackie as a brand has always being held in high regards agmonst users here, not only due to the premium quality, but also the premium price paid for Mackie products.

The most popular mackie product here should be the VLZ series, the SRM speakers are also well taken too since their introduction. I think your products are handled by quite a few dealers here, so sometime it's a bit confusing on who to find for a certain product.

My opinion is that for Crate products, there is not enough product presence over here too.

Best Regards,
Mike

The D8B does not have talkback!! for all the bells and whistles for that board, that was a MAJOR, if not embrassing oversight.

Also, mackie support from some of the local distributers is flakey at best. have had clock issues with my board for two years now, and the tech guy was like "why dont you just use the board as master".. yeah...after plonking down a couple of grand for a master clock generator, thats NOT a solution.

anyways, am both surprised and glad to see the corporate head office taking an intrest in the region. About time maybe?

welcome!

One thing about Mackie products - you guys got the best user manuals around! I know it is not something that is crucial - but your manuals are really easy to read and user friendly. One of the worst manuals - Roland.

Oh no, that is embarrassing for us no? If it helps, you could talk to our more knowlegeable US support people, do you wish me to set up a trouble ticket request for you?

All those issues haves been fixed in our dXb

Mackie boards were the first mixers I've ever learn, touch and used... Nostalgia...

Thanks for the responce.

About talking to US support, that will be my only option considering the {lack of}support i get here, but i think youre missing the point. the issue here is the lack of professional support locally.

if mackie can offer its professional products for sale here, i think it should also offer professional support. its is pointless for mackie to expect selling its products for pro applications, and not offer the support thats needed in this kind of enviornment.

case in point. The plastic border around one of our D8Bs based in HK broke. although only a cosmetic issue, it breaks one's heart to see your console in that state. we contacted the HK dealer and were told it would take 3 months for the parts to arrive. after which, we had to send our console back for installation which was suppose to take more then a month! thats one month of lost billings. for what seems to be a simple replacement of some cosmetic plastic.

this, and the clocking issue, has left a very bad impression. i've been in this industry long enuff not expect equiptment to work flawlessly everytime. i do however expect reasonable support for gear thats been marked as professional and priced as such. That would mean knowladgeble answers to my queries, or at the very least, a referall to someone who can help. not the "we cant help you, we just sell the gear. please go contact mackieUS yourself" attitude we've been getting.

My $0.02.

Thanks!

Hi Tripper, this is exactly the kind of feedback I need and I appreciate hearing this from you and anyone else who a has gripe.
It's not easy keeping tabs on whats happening with all our territories and it's through feedback that we are able to improve and fix issues which need fixing.

Is your current issue still unresolved?
