Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting a headphone, maybe skullcandy for the design. Was wondering if anyone owns it and could tell me if its worth the $120 i'm going to pay. i.e. In terms of sound quality and design, is it really worth $120?

I'm thinking of the dj/hesh series, so if anyone could help me out it'll be greatly appreciated.

From what I have heard, skull candy isn't really that good in sound quality. It's just the design. If you ask me, I would suggest brands like Denon, Audio-Technica, Sennheiser. I would suggest that you go to http://jaben.net/forums/ and do a little research on reviews and such. If you want better sound quality, I would suggest getting 2nd Hand Headphones.

Audio Techs are a bit biased in the treble, making the bass sound really bad unless you tweak your EQ on your mp3 accordingly

What sort of songs you listen to, anyway?

if you are willing to stretch your limit a bit, try Grados.

though i wouldnt recommend them for outdoors use considering they are open cans.

Audio Techs CMI. Treble Biased, Sennheiser anything under 500 bucks usually CMI too. Scooped mids. Go buy yourself a pair of UE SF5 pros, you won't regret it.

lol thats an earphone la dude. get senns. i saw some new models. really solid. sounds good too.

haha yes i know..

but senns, usually their lower ends arent that good unless willing to invest in their higher end headphones. TS can try going to Jaben@Adelphi or Stereo (Plaza Singapura or Causeway Point).

Why never skull candy? The design is real cool though. But actually, I've tried a $150 range senn but cant hear a difference in the sound quality. Well those brands that you guys suggested sounds expensive. My budget of $150 max wont get me any of that. Will it?

PX200. I swear by mine. Had it since secondary school.
90 bucks burn, plus it doesn't make you look like you got a head injury and decided to draw skulls and flowers on your helmet.

the 150 you pay for skull candy ends up just being for the design. i think it isnt worth it if the sound quality doesnt do the price justice.

for 150 you can get a 2nd hand grado, if you search hard enough..

The designs are to unoriginal. Let a lone the poor quality of it. It's not worth the money spent.
Get a Grado SR61. only $120

Tis considered audiophile heresy to mention Bose and Grado in the same sentence.
BOSE = Buy Other Sound Equipment. Same goes for Skullcandy, really. If you can't hear the difference, get a cheap pair and spend the rest of the money on other things.

to be honest.

the skull candy is pretty poor in terms of audio quality compared to their competitiors.

you're basically paying for the loud designs and cos its popular among many poker players and all.

however, if thats what you're going for, then i guess its your cuppa tea.

however, if you would want a recommendation, i'd recommend the audio technica es-7, 199.

it looks amazing, go google! awesome soundstage, great bass control, and really elevates the audio quality of your music. however, please do take note of the bit rate of your songs.

just my 2 cents!
