Any softies here ever had the giggles on stage?
I was reminiscing with a friend the other day and talking about this song “Besame Mucho” (he had recorded this track on his Latin album some time back).
I remember once when I was performing in a “not so swanky” country club (you know – the type where the members all cheapo and show off but try to act damm high & mighty & damm demanding type but actually all normal income jokers).
The crows consisted mainly of ballroom dances. They demanded cha-cha, rumba, tango, foxtrot, French waltzes etc… One day they requested Besame Mucho.
I was playing piano with a 4 pc band for this 6 ngts a week slot. The band tot – “Lets just whack this tune” so we played it. However we played in a high key (Am – high for guys) and I sang it with much gusto & feeling (I was messing about) like some Spanish bull fighter … my guys started giggling … soon I was giggling too…before U know it the whole band was in stitches on stages. but we continued to play (I ducked under my piano laughing) and got strange looks from the dancing crowd … It was sooooo hilarious
That seasoned musos couldn’t contain our giggles on stage during a performance.
Any other softies had this kind of experience before?
