wouldn't it lyk damage ur drumskin kinda thing if u play with damaged sticks?

n i think using e sticks will give u different sounds bcos its broken.

it's hard to say.. but it 'springs/bounces' back MORE than regular sticks when you hit.. it doesnt damage the skin .. it's just softer. well that's my opinion anyway
By the way.. im going to rephrase myself . Not BROKEN sticks but splitted sticks like the one in the above picture
hahah

u want durable sticks get oak sticks... shira kashi white oak promarks... they won't break....

i think that stick u have satisfy as broken as the front part is already off...

how can u split a piece of wood??? it's one solid piece....

and when u have shorter sticks, of course it will have more rebound...

i didn't take physics but i think it's common sense...

hahahah this is a funny thread.
Ok i guess nobody uses splitted sticks nowadays..

I'll chuck mine away :p

I think it splitted because uhh.. the front part was chipping off and i think i hit a sweet spot while jamming and Poof! it became KoKo Krunch!

Btw Marc , I dont think they got any shorter.. Next time you split/brake your sticks you try and i think you'll know what i mean haha :P

yeah it definetly is easier cos its shorted and lighter...
my zildjian 5A anti-vibes...haha one of it was broken and i went to my schs DnT workshop and sawed the other one to balance both..then smoothed it with sand paper...

but the sound produced was different. i lost the anti vibes in a bus. =(((

wow... you realised he managed to keep the groove though his stick broke and he waited till the part that chipped off to totally fall off before attempting to use it.

amazing drummer man
