Yes...of course having good souns guys helps alot too .... not the boh chap ones who sometimes dun even farkcare if the back up mics louder than the main mike or not etc ...

In all my years of performing.. I've learned that the last person to depend on in a performance is the bloody soundman. Everything would be perfect and fine during soundchecks but when the gig starts, everything on my mic messes up.. I don't know whether it's just gigging venues like CCs or clubs, but I didn't have this problem at esplanade concert hall though..

Very fedup with soundmen. In the end I had to resort to trying to work everything out vocally during each performance (which leaves just seconds for me to do this) and readjust my vocals between my spoken-word volume, projective volume, and my operatic vocals (which until now the mics still have problems catching its right tone!! GRR)

Otherwise, the karaoke place we went to have an in-built automatic off-key detection system.

If you go flat three times, they would just stop playing the song and move on to the next song. If it detects the same voice on the next song, it will stop again.

It'll then go on to serve five different singers, after that it will allow, whoever sang flat notes previously, to sing again.

We are planning to go to the same place again cos it's cheaper.

re the soundman issue - join the club partner ... I hate them boh chap or "know it all" soundmen who always claim "I want to make U sound good" but actually know shytte or care farkall. After that when commented on they "act offended".

Esplanade sound guys THE DOGS BOLLOCKS MAN! Best sound mix I ever had in SG were at Esplanade open air & the main hall. Those guys KNOW what they're doing....

Vicko - stop stalking me .... U can duet with Hecklerkoh while I duet with ALL THE SOFT FEMALE VOCALISTS!

Boo why everyone calling me great sage? Stop it lah I feel funny :S Think some people who heard me sing before has been exaggerating lar, I'm not that good..
