genres are there for a reason. to classify music into different groups. you can't say music is universal because no piece of music sounds exactly the same.

I don't like metalcore. Period.

I don't even know why, because I like melodic death and the like. Maybe its just my personal preference. Funny thing is, I like hardcore like Hatebreed, etc.

I don't fancy Metalcore much, but KsE is definitely one of my favourite bands. I think Howard Jones just make his band stood out from all the rest. Other than KsE, the rest sounds pretty similar to me because they don't have a bellowing Black guy singing.

Yeah KsE is really not the usual metalcore band. I dig their stuff

I also dig As I Lay Dying but other than these two bands, there aren't any metalcore bands I particularly like.

Yeah Lamb of God! But its because they have groove metal influences so its groovier and heavier.

For hardcore, Underoath is worth checking out.
