The acerbic tone adopted by poet reveals his innate desire to actually reconnect with his loss of Asian roots (shown here through how Halloween is seen as a manifestation of western ideals). He highlights this desire through how he "just wanna see chicks/ wearing tight jeans". While discrediting a particular trait of western culture (halloween), he appears to actually embrace the notion of sexually invigorating females, even going so far as to adopting a western slang in addressing them. This dichotomy which he experiences is thus expressed in a relatively cathartic form and in doing so, he can thus address his inner poverty and ultimately exude a stronger sense of identity in relation to our conflictingly Asian yet Western society.
