What does that mean?

I remember someone here asking about Drop D tuning but I can't seem to find it...can any kind souls explain it?

drop d is basically tuning the bottom e string to a d note instead. some songs use drop d tunings so u can basically play powerchord with one finger.

half step will mean that you tune all your strings a half step down. which means that your strings will be D#, G#, C#, F#, A#, D#. this will give you the advantage for playing some chords in another pattern. you can do a D# by simply forming an E power chord on the second fret.

drop d is teh niiicccee. not only does it give you nice sounds with distortion, you can use one finger all the way.

yes... u use that tuning and play iced earth super syiok i tell u nicely 1st

D#, G#, C#, F#, A#, D#

the best

So what needs to be shown on the tuner for half step would be D, G, C, F, A, D?

nope, its D#, G#, C#, F#, A#, D#

this is the tuning for whole step down: D, G, C, F, A, D

now i dont know about your tuner, but if you tuner is a korg, theres a button where it has the "flat" pitch setting. press that once for the setting for half step tuning.

or alternatively, you can tune down your low E string to D# and use the standard tuning method from there. which is what i always do. :)

harmonics help too :)

My tuner is the clipping type. Ok, so let me get this straight, the thinnest string should show D, 2nd thinnest showing G, 3rd - C, 4th - F, 5th - A, 6th- - D?
