purple = the vol knobs crack and input jack will get distortion when i touch the vol coz abit loose loose...

pink = i see the bridge very old liao wan to change den what's that wire thing sticking out...

i really need some help plz dun laugh at me :(

use any kind of metal polish on the frets. Silvo or Brasso. they can be found at hardware stores. Mask the fretboard with masking tape so that the solvents will not flow into the fretboard wood.

Spray Philips contact cleaner* into the moving parts of the capacitors and twist the knobs as you do so. the loose input jack can be tightened by an adjustable wrench.

like headcharge mentioned the wire sticking out is a ground wire. e careful when you change bridges because u might need to have extra holes drilled into your bass to fit. you might just want to take your bridge apart and clean it with the metal polish.

*Some people in other forums mentioned that WD-40 is oil-based and conducts electricity, thus ruining the tone or smth. i cant remember what i read but it's still safer to use philips contact cleaner IMO.

can get this from couple of shops locally. One bottle for fretboard cleaning, the other one is lemon oil. Within inside got a piece of fret polishing cloth. That cloth really helps to polish up the fret. Only problem is prolly not having the patience to polish each fret throughly most of the time

If dont want to get the whole set, yamaha combo shop got sell the polishing cloth in a packet of 3 by itself, without the cleaning/lemon oil.

i got myself a piece of chamois cloth and i reckon that it cleans a good 75% of my gear, no cleaning fluids etc required

that time cherns was selling the chamois... i saw the thread in the great deals subforum if im not wrong... but i got mine from a hardware store at the auto section instead

the real deal is the one made from some deer skin, not the synthetic one. it's good for removing grease off the laquer and grease from the metal parts such as the tuning machines and even the strings. it really cuts through grease. good for cleaning spectacles oso. if you have oily skin maybe you can try wiping your face in it..

but doesnt do much for cleaning tarnished metal and fretboard gunk

wa sian.... i go clean my bridge... i buy new set of string... den i tune them time... i cannot get the 2nd string tone in tune... so i keep tuning... BUT it broke....... where got sell just the 2nd string.... is longscale .055
