guitarshop for fender jazz bass

i'm guitarist converted bassist and thinking of getting a fender jazz bass (haven't decide on a model yet and version) and regardless of whether it is a US or japan make, for less than $1500, isit possible? if it is, which guitar shop have it? thank you

japan made ones, you can check out ranking, opposite swee lee at bras basah complex. Not sure whether they have stock tho, but you can definitely get one for way under 1500.

Or you can import them from ishibashi in japan

US made ones, for 1500, think you need to get a second hand one. search luthermusic's, they actually got quite a few US and Jap ones going ard right now.

Guitar 77 has MIJs fender basses....

Or you can check out Music Theme at Peninsula....They have Fender MIJ Jazz Basses going from $1200-$1400...

i've nothing against local stores bringing in fender japan, but ordering online IS cheaper, and the variety is much wider than stores here, as the best pieces are usually reserved or snapped up fast.

hey thanks for the help guys, but when i checked on the site of ishibashi's fender page i saw this sentence "I will limit sales of the fender Japan commodity only to Japan"

i hope they are lying somehow or they may play back alley...

nah,that sentence is not true,i tried to email them and they give me the quotation and shipping cost straight away,so no need to worry yeah

that sentence just means that you can only buy fender japan through japanese stores. fender will not export their guitars out of japan. so local guitar shops probably get theirs the same way we get ours. i don't know, i've never owned a guitar shop 8)

just a matter of understanding their engrish. looking for a base?

yes, buy jah-paang (japan as pronounced by my indonesian lecturer :lol: )

btw, where can we get the fender japan 'Twang' catalog? it's different from the us one.
