Guitar tone help! HELP!

Hmmm. . Eugene have you heard of the mod by SeekZ? Reanimation Mod or something? Do you think that's worth the money? I heard it and it sure reduces the scooped sound while maintaining the lows that I like. Also, the clarity of chords is alot better. Here's the link: http://www.seekz-stompers.com/services/reanimation_mod.html

Oh yea and bros here. I've made a small recording for my guitar tone problem and posted it on youtube. Maybe you guys might wanna take a listen? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ln_p_5fmvt4

hey,

I heard your recording and, yea, strings man, you really gotta change it. They're dead, like mine previously (that's why i know, hahah).

As for the Marshall amp, one thing is Marshall is famous for its trebly cut, so it really does not help in your situation, especially coupled with rusty strings.

As for your SD-1, you might want to reverse the 3 o'clock tone setting to 9 o'clock instead and push up the drive instead. Changing the sequence of the pedal will also help sometimes (guitar - SD1 - MT2 or guitar - MT2 - SD1).
Putting the MT2 nearer to the amp will make the MT2 sound more pronounced, and since you are trying to get reduce the sharp trebly sound in favour of the more warm tone, you can try swapping the position.

I hope it helps! :]

i checked the sound clip, n yea, it's really good.

but

my opinion really worth no shit, why, because it's your guitar and your playing, so what sounds good to me might not sound good to you man. so yea, trust your ear :].

just a piece of advice though, that the sound of the modded one is no longer an MT2 sound per say, so you should consider that.

Haha. . . It sounded decent to me. And yea, it ain't the MT-2 sound. But it's reversible cos there's a switch there to allow toggling between the modded sound and stock sound. I kinda like the thicker sound and removed mid scoop that the article spoke of. But yea. . . Thanks for your advice man. :D
