hi guys !

i might be getting a couple of new axes and other equipment soon and was thinking of getting a new stand. i m pretty unsure of what to get since ive heard differing opinion of getting individual stands, multiple rack stands , suspended stands and resting neck stands or backless stands.

i am currently looking at a warwick 3 piece axe holder stand. can anyone recommend me a viable alternative or tell me the pros and cons of these diferent stands ?

your help will be GREATLY APPRECIATED :D thanks guys !

i would get anything with a HEAVY base, due to this simple reason:

two weeks ago, i put my axe on a side of my double stand. the other side held my acoustic. when i took out the axe to play, the strap hooked onto the leg, then caused my acoustic to fall flat on the floor :smt022

:lol:

Hi Stars,

one suggestion is to build you own if you have alot of guitars. really. it saves you quite a sum. and it is not difficult.

Buy bookself that has adjustable shelf height and nail a couple of poles to keep the guitars in place. for foam padding, use those camping foam floor mats. i built one that can house up to 8 guitars and it cost me less than $50.

cheers!

the rockstand for 3 guitars is real cool, had it for 8 months already, can hold acoustics and electrics, and can hold more than 3 if you postition them properly(although i don't recommend it)

thanks all for your help

@loneeurope

thanks for the suggestion , dont think ild be heading in that direction. the thing is , i m a terrible terrible terrible technician or anything that requires delicate construction. would probably create something that would collapse in 3 days :p

@jeremyrozario ,@stillwater

thanks alot bros for the info , i m more than settled to go for either the 3/5 slot holder warwick rockstand.

hmmz , have ya noticed any foam reaction with the finishes on your axes ? i ve heard problems with foam on certain stands and finishes on axes placed on the stand , thats why i m prepared to shell out good money to get a good stand :D not willing to let something good get damaged by such a minor detail

bro, as long as you play with your guitar quite often, I believe there will be no such as foam reaction. Been using it for few years and no problem with mine. Just rotate your axe in regular basis like I do :lol: Don't let any of your axe feel being left out :D

Mine are just normal guitar stands for single guitar which cost less than $20 at sweelee.

BTW, I feel that stand without bracket for the guitar neck is better in term of protecting guitar from neck warp (because the neck does not lean against anything... well this is just my opinion). But somehow I just feel that is very easy for the guitar to drop, since there's nothing to stop it from falling.

ok ic..

but on my previous bass.. i played daily and there were foam burn marks and rubber marks on the finish of the bass (just a few days after i bought it) i felt so heart broken and "sim tia" because it was just brand new and the finish was nearly ruined by the rubber mark ( but gradually it faded)

just my 2 cents worth... saw a hercules stand that some guitarist was using at a gig.. able to hold 3 axes.. checked it out and it was sturdy and had a good locking system... think swee lee sells them.. u may want to go and have a look if u have not bought ur stand.. have not really heard about hercules this brand myself, but when i saw it, the stands looked reliable...

thx man..ill go check it the next time i visit swee lees..i dont have a stand for either my lock nor grx70..thinkin of gettin one by end of this year once i saved up more cash..

hmm >??

stands arent really expensive. a mid range one would be bout $15 .. a good one costs u about $25 -$30

hmmz

@iamnuthin_84

thanks for the info bro :D i did see the hercules stands but they place the strain too much on the neck , as they suspend it , dun quite like that as its abit dangerous when the strain is on the neck as the entire weight of the axe falls on that part of the neck. not sometihng ild like
