Guitar stand

I own an Ibanez RG and i thought of buying a guitar stand since i heard that leaning it against the wall will cause the neck to warp faster.

But i also heard negative issues related to the guitar finish, and also some guitar stands will make the guitar neck warp faster too...

Anyone care to recommend a stable guitar stand thats able to support my RG properly?

Well, it's said that stands with neck support will cause the neck to warp in the long run. So far I've not experienced it myself before. But this kind of this thing, safer to believe that not.

Regarding the negative issues with finishes, only guitars with nitro finishes will have problems. Such as colour migration etc.

Guitars with polyurethane finishes such as what most RGs have, no need to worry.

The Shubb Talon stand is a good recommendation. Why?

-small and compact.
-no neck support.
-very stable.
-material used is tested, no negative effects even with guitars with nitro finishes.

i m also using ibanez rg like u previously i jus lean it against the wall but in a thick padded ibanez guitar bag.
Just brought a k&m guitar stand with no neck rest at swee lee 1 week plus bac.
small, compact and stable

I bought mine at Swee Lee BB. It was $20 list (before the discount)...
After was $16+. Not sure if the price have gone up now.

Mine is more than 7yrs old!! And still looks good and well... :mrgreen:

I would believe such an occurrence will happen if the guitar is on the stand for a really long time without being played. Hence a guitar that is played often shouldn't encounter such an issue, and even if there is warping, nothing a little truss rod adjustment can't do.

Correct me if I am wrong

I agreed with THOA. I have been using a 5 guitar stand with neck support. No problem so far
