guitar seems to be less resonant

brothers from soft, i really need ur help. Acouple a days agao my friend's friend hit my Epi LP over and sent it flying (k too much drama, FALLING) to the floor. It was in it's hard case hence no major EXTERNAL dings were seen. However since then, it never sounded the same.

Alfter that incident my guitar seems to be less resonant, as in when i strum, the body does not have as much vibration as before, i also feel the big warm mellow punch it had was missing

I checked everywhere but the only thing that i saw that worried me was the neck. at the cutaway portion there was a crack like mark in the joint but it seemed normal so i'm assuming it's not a broken neck. I was wondring whether a borken truss rod woud affect a gitar as mentioned. I'm really pissed at that guy now, and if possible get sum form of compensation, hence i need help asap.

Thanks once again!

yes compensation and the truss rod does matter it affects the tensions

my main concern here is that the truss rod is broken >.< because after that fall it went quite badly out of tune....now it's holding tune quite steadily.....but i feel the body no longer vibrates as much D= is it just me?

FYI, my Epi LP fall from my guitar stand and the headstock broke. You might wanna check for any kinda cracks at the headstock area connecting to the neck or something

agreed with taking it to the guitar techs
you see i think you might be underestimating the crack that seems pretty normal the neck's material may have been strong enough to withstand the impact from the crash but what ever happend inside is a different story all together.. since you said there was a change in tone it wouldnt take a dummy to tell that it's what inside that caused the fault

yes... pics would help us understand the situation better:

*let us see the crack
*let us see the neck at the fret-end since you are concerned it's truss rod related

I'm soo sorry >.< have been REALLY BUSY recently. Yea, i'll get around to posting the pic soon >.< OTL

btw sub u need the pic at the nieck end to check the neck's "straightness"? cause it's still the same if thats what u're looking for.

it was in an epi hard case. yea i would assume so too. maybe i'm being paranoid =S the sounds coming back slowly but the body still doesn't vibrate as much as i rmb it to. but den again memory is a deceptive thing.

i knocked my epi lp accidentally onto the floor and it was in an epi hardcase as well. but so far, i dont have any problems with it

in order to restore the "majik" back in the geetar, do these

1) Bring to reputable geetar tech often mentioned around here to do a re- setup, check for any defects(if any)

2) Once everything is certified ok, pass the geetar to someone who is more proficient in playing.

3) Plug the geetar into a combo amp of sort(no practise amp please)

4) Ask the fella who can play the geetar better to play the instrument as per normal

5) The instrument will be back to full glory, if not even better then before

anyway, our guitar is not a micro organism, there is nothing as slowly coming back of sort. Its all wood, metal and some wires. Its either have it or none at all. To prevent the mind from thinking its an alien body with strings, either bring the guitar for checkup or if self sufficient, do the necessary check and stuff. Our instrument is just a tool to do music...
