Guitar Repairs

Kudos to GC for the great attitude!!! :)

I'm just taking a thing or two from the forums overseas. Namely the les paul and fender forums. There's a fair amount of junk there but information comes readily from many luminiaries who find time to post! And spammers will be booted out =) If one doesn't share, there will never be trust anyway.

GC, respect you for that.

I feel ppl like empty71 should come out and share too... not just only jumping on chances to clinche deals...

Er... He does share info as well! But not as much as GC... Furthermore, he uses SOFT as an outlet to market Reverend stuff and his services, there's nothing wrong with that man...

Well, I would like to post regularly but it's posts like yours and innuendos from "you know who" that makes me think twice :?

Feel free to e-mail me on any questions you have.

Let me illustrate an example on why I feel that this is good for the local guitar industry:

Let's say, 3 newbies don't know how to perform a simple repair to their Strats and one of them posts a question here.

A guitar repairman who shares his experience and knowledge with others who aren't familiar with guitars, teaches them the basics and most importantly, the concept of the repair/mod. The 3 guys learn and manage to do it on their own. This incident builds trust between the 3 guys and the repairman, and thus, the relationship. And the 3 guys will be able to share what they know with others who don't know.

Ok, the concept of the story was adapted from the film Pay It Forward, I hope you guys can see the bigger picture.

empty71, pls don't be reluctant to share info, after reading this story.

Nah, I'll share when I see a need :D For those who knows me are aware that I've got nothing to hide. Matter of fact. I always encourage those who sent their guitar to me for set up to hang out, watch and ask questions.

I even turn away the occasional jobs when I think the guys can do it themselves after some guidance and instructions from me.

Contrary to what most people think, I'm not so desperate for jobs and not a cut throat

It's good that things have been cleared up...

I guess most ppl don't really get to interact with you and hence, a misunderstanding is prone to happen. I myself have never interacted with you prior to this... Maybe you can join us at the next SOFT meeting?? lol... It could be a good opportunity for you to interact and you could present Reverend guitars...

very good idea. win-win for all parties.

I have been advocating a win-win situation for stores and buyers, some of you guys might know that... The major transgressor of this simple commerce/trade principle in the local industry is Davis, when it comes to guitar/bass sales lol...

Anyways, Nov SOFT meeting will be great, as usual. Already looking forward to it... hahaha

And that day will draw nearer...

thanks guys for your help. i hope my friend can find some pointers here. this thread is also quite enriching for me.

the guitar man who repaired my friend's guitar said that the neck alignment of his guitar got problem. he claimed he have fixed it but... as most of you might guessed it. it's still crap. so my friends seeks help through me. and i thought maybe i should post it up.

thanks guys for your great help.

What you mentioned will probably cost close to the guitar's cost or more. I would advice you to sell it off if u really didn't like the guitar.
