guitar recommendations and amps

i am looking for a guitar with a budget of $500. Just the guitar. I play mostly metal and alternative rock. are there any recommendations? and my other guitarist is looking for a guitar amp with a budget of $300. he is looking for a small, lightweight amp with a good sound quality and voltage. again, any recommendations? we would appreciate your suggestions. thanks alot

Guitar go davis see lor, alot of brands have guitars in your price range but dunno if it suits your taste

go to the guitar shops in bras basah and peninsula and try them when you feel like it, buy if not, then go to other shops and try other kinds.
same goes for the amps..
$500 you can get a good guitar though.

get the roland micro cube!
cost about 260 from swee lee.
its small, and compact, and with its inbuilt effx (distortion,delay,chorus etc), its definitely worth every cent.

good voltage?? :S anyway definitely check out the roland cube series. excellent bang for buck. also the reviews on the peavey vypyrs have been generally positive, might wanna look into those as an alternative.

It's 500 for the guitar and 200 for the amp.
