Guitar players- a bane to the environment?

dear friends. have you ever felt guilty having to throw away those string envelopes everytime you change strings? how about those strings- isn´t metal an unrenewable resource?



well i wish that there´s a local body here who´d initiate a recycling programme. i really feel bad that paper & prescious metals have to end up in the dumps everytime i change strings...



anyone has any idea if there is such an organization here?

We can ask the guitar shops to start a deposit area for old strings and recycle them?

a good suggestion. but they must have a good returns for doing so- it all ties down to $$$.



although i don´t quite favour D´Addario strings, i applaud their conservation efforts.
