it also depends. some people prefer harder for picking, softer for strumming. me, i use tortex 1.5mms, the light purple ones.

i juz switched frm jazz IIIs to stubby jazz, n its great! smoother pickin'...now tryin' to decide which thickness suits me best...bought all 3 thickness n tryin' 'em out....

i noticed that nearly all of the SOFTies r shredders. but i have this bunch of picks i want to throw away. but thot of giving away instead. anyone here uses mid/mid-thin picks? i want to give this all away. no strings attached. i can put in an envelope and mail it to whoever...

I've used jazz III, then switched to stubby(all thicknesses at different points of time), but at the end of the day, came back to jazz III. I prefer taht, though the stubby feels reaaaal smooth when u shred, it wears out and gives u this disgusting squeaky feeling when u pick. haha...my guitar teacher swears by the stubby 3mm though, so its personal prefrence.

blackmoo, yea, i like jazzIII, i think its good, been using it for a very long time already. :)

if i use soft picks, i will tend to trip over while alt picking at high speed. So i use hard picks, hard picks gives more tone too.
