Guitar Maintenance

Hello guys. I need help on this one.

After much consideration and saving up, i've decided to purchase my second
guitar perhaps sometime next week. And to me, this isn't cheap and i dont
want it to go down the drain due to improper care and lack of maintenance.

I was wondering if fellow softies could post how you maintain your guitar(s).
Eg. What you buy (includes cost and where it was purchased), and how you
go about cleaning your guitar (step-by-step, including how often it is done)

If you guys can do this, it will not only be a great help to me, but to others
as well who have no clue of how to properly maintain their guitars.

What type of wood is your going-to-be-yours guitar? I use Dunlop 65 Guitar Polish & Cleaner for the body. It will shine like the sun. For the fretboard, I use Dunlop 65 Ultimate Lemon Oil. If you're guitar is maple wood, don't use them. Don't have to buy string cleaner or whatever. Just change strings and after every playing session, give your strings a good wipe with Planet Waves MICRO FIBER polish cloth.

Normally, I will only use the guitar polish and lemon oil once a week. It's something like car servicing. But I will clean my guitar with micro fiber cloth everyday after playing. You can get these stuff from any guitar shop. The total price should not go over 22 dollars. I got mine from Ranking Sports and Music

And more info is needed. There's so many parts of a guitar you can clean.

The most effective thing to do is to wipe the guitar down after every playing and leave it in a dry area inside the guitar bag. That will reduce rust and dust.
