i have a problem. my elecrtic guitar keeps running out of tune when i try tuning it. and the back part of the bridge seems to be tilting forward each time i tighten the strings. i could see the hole in the guitar. i've tried to search online for help but couldn't find any. can someone tell me what is wrong with my guitar? i would like to know what the problem is before sending the guitar for repairs.

Tighten the springs behind? Make it really low so when you tune it just floats up a little.

Ibanez GSA/GRX/GRG or something? Their tuners are pretty bad as well, don't hold the tunings very well. My school has a lot of those lower end Ibanez and most of the time when we do dive bombs or even do bends, the tuning goes out very quickly.

yeah mine is a GRX 40. how do i tighten the springs? i've never touched the hardware inside a guitar before. i usually send it for repairs.

Open the white plate behind, there is this metal plate with 2(or 3 screws) being screwed into the body right?

Turn it in further.

My first guitar was GRX 40. Pretty good axe IMO. But yeah, the tuners are bad.

my jem-jr also has this problem, even with furthur turning to tighten the spring, the bridge will keep tilting upwards.. Thinking someway to just block the bridge all at once..

tighten the spring, loosen th springs, retune. still stilting? tighten abit more, loosen somemore, retune. tah-dah.

floating trems are easy to deal with once you do your research properly AND you have experience.

Bring it to someone who knows, let him show it to you once and for all. Or bring it to a tech to get it properly done up, and ask if you can watch to learn.

XJapan, if you don't understand the bridge, don't blame it.

It's like buying a fork then complaining you can't drink soup with it.

To answer wetsoil, there's NOTHING wrong with it. That is EXACTLY how it's supposed to work. You can't fix it becuase it's not spoilt. What you can do is learn why it is like that and how to weild the weapon to it's fullest potential.
