tks

wait , why are you buying a guitar for its value in 10yrs time?

u can buy a $8000 PRS today ... but 10yrs down .. who knows right? would you pay 8000 for a 10yr old guitar?

the very expensive vintage guitars we have today were really worth quite little in their time. the prices skyrocket due to overwhelming demand. you cannot predict demand.

but something that u like and thats worth at the time. if ure looking to make money outta value of guitars and stuff den i suggest u look into other hobbies.

Well sumthing dat can really grow in value is collectin figurines. E.g. Like Star Wars, Spawn and a load more. But you just need to know which is the rare one and find em. I personally collect figurines but not coz i wanna make money i juz like em a load. If the value increase its juz a bonus, but nvr for any amount of $$ will i sell em. To me it has sentimental values. BTW, also for ur figurine to have value it need to still be in da packaging. Juz sharing 8)

If you got $3k, stick in a China growth fund, or BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China) investment instrument. Those markets set to zoom up over next few years.

Hahah $8000 PRS. Confirm can invest in the 513 Brazilian neck rosewood at Davis. It's discontinued this year already due to lack of Brazilian rosewood. It's the wood rather than the brand that is worth investing in lol. Poor PRS.

well honestly just take ur 3k and look around for the guitar u like the most, in terms of looks and playability. cos i think thats the best overall investment cos if u end up buying something for its resale value, u may end up selling it. and yes gibsons and fenders have resale value as compared to other stuff like prs and ebmm, but even then gibsons usually depreciate in value like over 1k and i see us strats going for abt half price so i guess just go get a guitar u like. money well spent.

But why sell a guitar that you like the most? Anyway, you can also invest in guitar gear such as pickups eg. Tom Holmes (most believe it's the most accurate modern made PAF around: retails for around 500 USD)

Probably can even sell at a profit cause of the current backlog.

haha stop giving him ideas of how to make money..

just take the damned 3k and spend it ahahah. go on a mass spree trying everything u can. plenty of brands worth checking out. fender, gibsons, prs, ernie ball music man, jackson USA, peavey, esp and plenty more. price wise id recommend ebmm. with 3k u can pretty much have any of their guitars. and very good specs too.

dunno, go davis and see. im digging the single cut in the black cherry finish. awesome stuff with a really great tight grain figured top.

Hahah yea that one is nice 8) but not as nice as mine! The blue McCarty is real nice too, but the tone was abit lifeless, maybe it was too dark sounding.

Somehow I'm into plainer guitars nowadays. Not over the top type of flame but just something woody and natural. Why oh why do I not like PRS that much anymore =( but I can't find a good alternative brand. Gibson has its QC issues, I don't dig strats, custom building has way too many options and doesn't have that "visual mojo (lol wad a cliche term)" that i dig - I love the look of old wood like this http://www.jgguitars.com/ but the shape aint to my liking =p

Back to the subject though, if you wanna collect guitars go custom make your own, cause you get to have your own selection of woods!

hohoho gustavsson bluesmaster goes for like 13kusd second hand la. but it is a rather aquired taste for something that runs in the vein of a single cut design.

some gibson VOS reissues also have that kinda finish. i think its not so much the wood figuring but rather the more natural stains and bursts on the gustavsson. cos its more wood colour than say heritage cherry or something.
