Guitar for blues/jazz

Hey people looking for a good guitar for blues and jazz. Should i get a les paul or a strat? or any others? Looking for non whammy bar/trem guitar

Have you considered a Telecaster.

If you could get hold of a regular Tele or Tel copy, and swap pickups if they're too weak (or vintage) sounding, you can get a real nice Blues or Jazz tone with the middle switch position producing Strat style tones.

I've go with some pickups which are slightly overwound - like about 5-10%

if you want to do both, try getting a tele. some jazzers use the neck pup for jazz. the other alternative is a p90 equipped guitar, preferrably semi hollow or hollow. that will cover most jazz and blues. IMHO of course :P

Buy the Sahasrara and the chug immediately jumps into your face. Brilliant highs, smokey mids, thundering lows....harmonic overtones, note articulation with touch sensitive response......you name it, it does all of that and more!

Boss, how....can get free endorsement deal?

Seriously when Edder suggested an Ibanez RG, I'd say its possible. Fit a Duncan Jazz at the bridge for Jazz sounds, and a P90 humbucker-sized singlecoil at the neck for the singlecoil sound (blues).

Best results through mild overdrive.

will those hollow git u mentioned work well with distortion?

Gretsch guitars sound really good even with medium to high-gain actually. In fact, they sound good in cleans and mild overdrive too. When you play a Gretsch through high-gain, it doesn't play metal - it plays jazz, IMO.

i really like the SD jazz in the neck if you are planning to use very little drive

but if you are planning to do the blues a la SRV style, then go for a strat!

haha its like asking which girl good for sex man. the best would be to go and try all guitars within budget and then pick the one u like the most.
