I am looking to buy an all in one practice box like say the Zoom 707II or 606 or the Korg one, something that will give me some effects to play arnd with in my room for practice and more importantly will let me record stuff like say chord progressions to practice soloing over.

Any of you have any suggestions? Any comparisons b/w the models. I hear the 707II has a slot for a memory card which basically lets u record stuff to play over.

Any suggestions would be really helpful. Thanks!!

Why don´t you try out Line6 Guitar Port. It has amp stimulators and effects but the only problem is you can only use it with your computer. You can also try POD XT which is a kidney shape, combine with more than 45 classic stompbox and effect models. POD XT can be used with amps. It has its own program which involves computer.

You can record stuff using other programs like cooledit(a friend introduced it to me and it´s awesome) and others.

Korg is a better product compared to Zoom as zoom prods are kinda sensitive and do not offer good sounding and effects.I mean they just don´t have the kinda sounds i want but it´s best you check them all out.

For zoom, korg and line6 products you can check out at city music which have lotsa them. sometimes reviews from their websites are quite different from reviews of real people as they wanted to sell them out.

Hi, what are the advantages of hooking to the computer? The POD XT is abt how much? Pretty new to efx stuff. Cheers!

u get to record things very easily with so much easy-to-use software out there. then can burn to cd so easily. then well lots of stuff...

i think connecting to computers is definitely the way to go... everyhitng is being computerised i am really quite amazed.

well all day we are critisizing the gahmen but i think in funding so much into IT tech/education/converison they have done the right thing.

lifehouse, i believe a pod xt is $700+ new?

and lithium, i think u should go for a multi-effx that sounds nice. and fits ur budget. connecting to the computer is so easy nowadays. just an adaptor and a cable and some basic software and voila! at most $20 to connect any effects to computer and start recording.

if u want to know more can PM me i will try best to help =)
