Guitar cable demos

Do take a listen to the 5 different cables and tell me which sound you like best.
The recording were done using the same guitar same vol everything the same only cables are different. Next week do check back I'll let you guys know what cable is what.

All right here are the cables
Cable 1 is Bullet coil cables
Cable 2 is Proel cables
Cable 3 is Core X2 DIY cables
Cable 4 is Canare GS 6
Cable 5 is Core X2 instrument cable.

haha thanks for the upload, but hard to hear cause the video's maximum quality is 480p, the sound uber low bit rate!! you can force youtube to display a 720p video by rendering and uploading a vid with 1280 × 720 resolution. the flv will be tagged to a higher quality sound.

Great demo... Did you also sort the cables from brightest to darkest in the demo? I really liked cable 2 and 3 but I went for 3 as it has a better balance among all (which sounded like my Bullet cable as well).

Would be interesting to see the brands of the cable.

for some reason when I do that there's something wrong with the sound. After I upload the music plays halfway and stop then later continue and stop . I don't know why it's like that
But anyway I still can hear the diff in sound quite a lot actually.

hehe, so the point about the whole thread aint about how the cable sounds differently to the rest, but just you can hear the differences rather clearly

To go back to the topic, actually what madwerewolfboy brought up, is a very valid point, in regards to the resolution on the clip. If to really wanna show the differences, upload the clip in its wav format, make it available for download either via, yousendit, media fire etc.

With the low resolution(which i can also hear the differences), even though theres differences sonically, but it is never a true resolution of the sound sample, more so when during the conversion when uploading is already downsampling those sound .

The low resoultion bring forth a bias condition which affect the overall listening experience, which will eventually somehow affect the outcome of the test, indirectly affected by our preferences of the sound and the listening equipment.

from the video i think i like cable 3 best cause it sounds the most balance to me without strange eq peaks. nowadays i swear by my line 6 wireless 9 feet emulation though, it makes it warmer but not as muffled as cable 4 sample there.

i think maybe some high end was lost in the compression of the youtube audio clip. all of them should be much brighter than they actually are, and if that's the case, maybe i'd prefer cable 4! got a thing for warm sounding cables.. haha is that a vox / bullet coily btw?

Bro, if you want to improve the test like the rest are saying, I suggest get a SoundCloud.com account, upload in .wav, one clip for each cable. SoundCloud very good for such things cos you can organise the clips into "sets" and add timed comments etc.

Much better than posting on mediafire and all that

lol. everyone voted 3. i think 2 is a bit too bassy and 4 was a bit unclear. 1 sounded pretty good too. 5 was metallic though

i have a feeling 4 should be much brighter than it is, and same for the other cables cause if you compare 480p and 720p videos on youtube, you can hear quite a substantial amount of high end gone:

load both at the same time on different tabs then alternate between the two, take note of the cymbals! the guitar tone itself (hur hur pun) is also slightly different. it's more obvious with better speakers.

I like Cable 3. Nice clarity. 1 is a tad bit dull, 2 is slightly better than 1. 4 sounds dead and cheap. 5 has that weird treble.

For me cable 1 is nice for clean guitar strumming or plucking works very well with a strat especially position 4 and 2 pickups for 3 single coil. Cable 2 and 3 has somewhat the same quality with 2 having more bass and 3 sounding have more trebles and also more balanced. I'll use 3 for lead guitar playing clean sound. Cable 4 epic fail. Cable 5 I would probably use that in my rig when I play lead guitar, with distortion it really thickens up the tone and if I play jazz that's also another good cable to use very warm sound but defined tone unlike cable 4 it's warm but no defination

I think i like cable 2. To me, it sounds warm enough for my liking but not as warm as the 3rd one..
