but when I read that, I was under the (admittedly dumb) impression he want sum1 to kneel in front of him, while he doodles on the guitar which is held up by your outstretched arms.

Kinda lame though.. and btw, not only santana uses those 'extra guitar' stands... I saw Steve Howe use it too on a Yes Live concert DVD. Sure beats the heck out of changing guitars mid-song when you need that acoustic or jazz tone.
