grimey frets

hey guys. ive got a second hand fender MIM jazz bass. but the frets are kinda grimey. how do i clean em and return the shine? can i like change the frets?

Use masking tape and tape the fingerboard to protect it. Grab some steel wool and brush the frets up.

yea u cld use 0000 steel wool. or i prefer to use autosol metal polish. just make sure u mask up the fretboard.

learnt something new today! shall keep it in mind in case MY frets get grimey...

where'd u get the steel wool from anyway?

edit - can u believe i cleaned my friends old bass for him with a swiss knife. took me 3 hours to scratch off the grime carefully without damaging fingerboard.
