Hey there people..., they say that a Macbook pro is the ideal laptop for designing and editing stuff..but i don't own a Mac, so i was wandering if there's any software that i could buy for these kinda purposes. I have Adobe Master Collection CS4 but i need something for my 3d graphic design...can anyone sggest me a software that i can get for my 3d Design...?

What kind of 3D design are you doing? Are you a student? Cos some software have special pricing for students.

If you want free and open source, there's Blender http://www.blender.org/
I used it a long long time ago for some basic 3D modelling. It was painful... but the software looks like it has improved a lot over the years. Give it a shot before you go for some expensive apps.

Google SketchUp is quite limited but it can be useful for some quick urban landscapes. http://sketchup.google.com/

If you already have Adobe Illustrator you can achieve some simple 3D effects for example http://sixrevisions.com/graphics-design/40-useful-adobe-illustrator-3d-tutorials-and-techniques/

nope...i'm not a design student...but i'm a multimedia student...i'm planning for my project actually.. i don't really mind about the pricing... i just wanna some recommendations then i'll check it out...thanks for the tips 'carboxymoron' i'll check the programs out... I'm still open for suggestions..

Singapore industry standard for 3D softwares are 3D studio max or maya or sketch up. Depending what you want to do. Those cost in the region of 5k+

Blender is the only free 3D software in the market. Probably show us what you want to do so that we can give a better recommendation?

Mac screen is the best on market. That why people doing visual stuff wanna use Mac. You could setup colour setting easily and without using "spider" first. Also, MBP is one of the mean machine out there.
