TS: you're lucky to have been served well by luther, as I know he's a really nice guy cos I've been to his shop since 10 years ago, then ever since I got into audiorecording as I used to buy stuff from him (I live east and I would travel all the way down to IMM).
then my "shock" came when he called me up 5 years ago to tekan (yes like yell, "WHAT THE F* do you think you're trying to do!?" kind of tekan) me over the phone assuming I was a 2nd hand dealer and did not allow me to explain that I'm selling all my bedroom studio gear to venture into location recording and he was ranting something about his classified ads being the tops, and I just told him that won't last long with his attitude, took down all the stuff I have for sale on his site and put up on SOFT classified ads and that's why I would pay to be a supporting member in SOFT and buy my stuff from citymusic/hungbrothers instead.
grudge? maybe. but I'm definitely a happier matsusaka cow where the grass is greener. the only thing for shop owners here reading is that, the country is small, the scene is small,if you're having a bad day, keep it to yourself, don't look at all "young" clients as if they're kids, cos they will potentially grow up someday to do bigger things in relevance. we love our passion and we will remember the ones who try to ruin our journey.
*Edit* : anyway my post intention is not to flame luther, it's to serve a reminder.I truly agree with the people who vote luther's the nicest person etc. but for the ones who had a bad time with him, it's like I said, you caught him at a bad time. it's not in him to be like that. it's just that one random call one fine day was pretty enough to get me to stay away for as long as feel like.
to those asking "why wait until now then talk about it" , really, being tekaned jialat by a shop owner you think I'd have that calm composure? Musicians are nice people, I'm not either or.
