i do not own the little version, i have the full-sized humbucker in the bridge of my Ibanez RG1550.

clean, the SD fares better than other high output pickups like the Distortion/ Custom, mainly because it's not a high output unit. you'll get a broad midrange response which sounds less acoustic-like compared to a '59/ Jazz.

at high gain, the SD maintains a good definition across the frequency but possesses a clipped treble response. this pickup has a reinforced lower midrange which gives it a grizzly nature, very suitable for players who grinds bass notes/ palm mute.

i didn't buy this pickup because of George Lynch, but he remains a very capable player in my books.
