Yes... but what's really strange is why they have to go out of their way to slam Fender... That I don't understand. If that's the kind of values the company has, then I'm very much not a fan...:mad:

Not this one. This article isn't their own. On one of their own blogs (can't seem to find now), they compared theirs against the VG Strat, and they specifically mentioned that theirs was "more detailed and more complete compared against the FENDER VG STRAT"!!!! Then they went on to talk about how the VG strat was inferior to theirs, naming the product and the brand each time.

Now. Claiming yours is better is one thing. Claiming yours is the best, and better than the rest is also ok. But naming your competitor's specific product and playing it down is very unprofessional, and immature.:???:

I dunno about you, but if this is the kind of values Gibson represents, then None of their products appeal to me anymore.:???:
 
i mentioned the Fender issue in that previous thread. the manufacturer claims the Gibson is far superior than the VG Strat... so much for having a brand name reputation.
 
I find that its neither surprising nor wrong, marketing and adverts in the US are way more liberal and in your face, just look at the old USA TV ads between Burger King and Macdonalds.

I still enjoy burgers from both joints

Actually, it's fine to me if they claim it's superior. And even if it really is, they simply imply that it's better than their competitor's product, and lead us to decipher ourselves who they're talking about. That's fine. I just find that for a company who claims to be high-end, pure, charge these prices, they seem to stoop very low. Oh well. All I can do about it is with-hold my money from them...:mrgreen:
 
gibson scared of fender lah. thats why all the trash talk comes out. insecurity. cheapens the brand name
 
The way Gibson advertises it seems like they invented the entire system themselves. Actually all they did was license it from Tronical Powertune with some money and put it on their guitars and viola "We invented it ourselves!" They didn't even do the least bit of modding to the machine head casings such that the corners of the squares stick out of the headstock. What a cheap move.
 
Its all competitive advertising. Take it with a pinch of salt.

Thats competitive advertising at its hilarious best.
 
well the more they bicker , perhaps they would compete with prices and then we benefit hahah cheaper gibsons and fenders for all , i dont know why you guys get so worked up by they're ads , and as whitestrat says"Oh well. All I can do about it is with-hold my money from them..." my money will still keep pouring into gibson and fender
