gibson gow: RD STANDARD!!

I had a late 70's RD Artist Active, which featured active electronics. It was a beautiful black guitar with gold hardware and an ebony fingerboard. The tone was awesome and it played like a dream. I had forgotten all about until I was speaking to a good old friend of mine this past summer - he reminded me that he still had it and that I had sold it to him (along with my old Fender Super Twin Reverb amp). (The super twin is an altogether other story - slightly larger than a twin but with 185 watts of pure clean power - completely amazing. It NEVER distorted, you could crank it up and up and up and it just kept getting louder and louder.)

haha. true. but is this really THAT UGLY?? maybe I have bad taste. hmm.

nahh... its acquired taste lah... nothing is too ugly or too beautiful.

Vox teardrop guitars... fugly to some but i think it looks cool
Coral sitar/guitar.... too freakin cool
Klein headless wonder... i love it but some thinks its a spaceage medieval axe
Ovation breadwinnner... i think its freakin cool too.

somehow... the RD just doesn't speak to me and the other mutated Gibson... whats the name... Moderne?

i still think the RD's are really cool, especially the artist series ones.

the only thing that puts me off is the cheapie looking dot inlays for the GOW reissue.

ooh i have alway think its a very nice shape..the 1st time i saw is from..

and i thought it was an esp artist series

This is so far the prettiest amongst the ugly ones.

I think there is hope that this one could be a cool design. Generously splash some cool graphic of a sexy babe inclining on a couch on the empty space below the arm rest and bridge.
