getting that metallica sound

the emg81 really plays a big part in getting that metallica sound. i was strictly a passive pickup guy until i tried the emg81, now i truly appreciate and understand why is it so popular for metalheads. if you have not tried it then please try it, if possible AB it against other pickups. it's my fave right now. but of course your amp comes first, and guitar is important too.

oh the metallica sound i'm talking about is from ride the lightning to AJFA. their sound for kill em all is different, more raw. hetfield used seymour duncan invader for that album.

ps: my experience with emg81 piqued my interest in seymour duncan blackout metal.. i'm interested to AB them to see which one is better.

Hardwire TL-2 Metal Distortion

Its got all the gain you need with just one stomp. No need for any pre-gain boosts, this is one hell of a filthy distortion pedal that dishes out powerful tones on its own.

Check out the demos on youtube (:

^ engelfauste has a review for the blackout metal, you can check it out. i don't think i need to write a review for emg81, as it's already been around for years and people already know how it sounds like. i'll be glad to share my thoughts on blackouts metal vs emg, after i've tried the blackouts metal.

if u're trying to get the death magnetic disaster mix quite simple. just stack 2 to 3 compressor pedals through what ever distortion u have into a solid state amp and max the gain and volume.

the sweet clipping.. undeniably the new signature sound of metallica from their latest album death magnetic. death to the ears! \m/

total disaster
