getting a pedal

hi erm i've played around with effects before but never bought one myself.

was wonder if the BOSSDD-1 is better or the Digitech Grunge? the dd1 dont sound strong enough compared the the grunge. i tested the grunge with mid gain(the grunge knob) so that it sounds not so distorted to get a real nice GNR feeling lol.

anyone help pls!?

yes, if u intend to get a ds-1, go for the modded ones. they sound much much better. more full, more dynamic and they clean up beautifully.

i own a keeley modded ds-1. imo its the best mod done to a ds-1:

but that might be costly and troublesome because they are not available in singapore. so, get a local tech to mod one for you. for example, beez does a pretty good job with the ds-1. and he charges a very reasonable fee for the mod.

just get a stock ds-1 here at the buy/sell. they usually go cheap.

trust me, a modded ds-1 will sound much better than a stock ds-1 or the digitech grunge. and also, u have many mods to choose from.

imo , i think the grunge is very chuggy . keeps alot of your lows tight . which is a give or take , and there are alot of mod DS-1 out there , i trust beez mods because one of my friend owns one , i've seen it in action , POWER enough !!

yes. its thin and lifeless. the keeley ds-1 is really one of the best distortions i've tried thats why its a mainstay on my board. it just sounds so much more like a tube amp.

okay firstly, swee lees prices for boss pedals are way way way overpriced. so a 40% discount would probably reduce the price to normal retail price. if u want first hand get from ebenex. 85bucks only.

i went to see some ds-2 reviews and it still sucks lol! think getting a ds-1 mod wud be better off haha.

sd-1 is different totally already. its an overdrive pedal.

the ds-1 and the digitech grunge are what u call distortion pedals.

an overdrive will nvr get u heavy rock and metal sounds.

use this as an example. any ac/dc song - overdrive

any metallica song - distortion.
