Hi.

I have some doubts in mind.

Currently im learning with my classical guitar. Still quite noob.

Im thinking of upgrading it to a better guitar. But I afraid that I learn halfway, I will leave it on one side.

Should I get a acoustic or an electric one?

My budget is around $200

Do share with me your advice

Thanks! :p

I do remember you asking around for acoustic guitars...

I think, you should go with an electric guitar instead. It is more versatile than an acoustic guitar.

Don't worry too much about your classical guitar, you can sell it in the future, or just keep it, like I do lol

I'd say get an acoustic first. Electric guitar can be a very costly instrument to play. Besides, you can play an acoustic guitar pretty much anywhere, whereas an electric guitar will need a power supply and an amplifier to produce sound.

But it depends on what you kind of music you want to play. I have a few friends who only play electric because their musical preferences lie with metal and pop-punk. If you want to play electric, take into account the amplifier. You're going to need quite a bit more than $200. Perhaps $200 for the guitar and $100 for the amplifier and cable. And you'll probably buy some drive and effects pedals along the way...

My recommendation would be learn both, but perhaps go for one first, and learn the other after that. If you can play both the acoustic and electric, and you enjoy a wide range of musical genres, you're gonna be a very versatile player.
