geez, my amp died...

happily playing my amp and all of a sudden a loud pop sound and the whole thing shuts down. now it won't power up. shoulda done some regular maintenance or somethin'. shucks.

think i'm screwed. any ideas? have mailed randolf hopefully he can revive it or something...

if its a tube amp, one of the tubes might be shot

the transformer is another possibility too

it's a peavey jsx. been more than a year since i bought it so i guess it's time for a a little maintenance... :lol:

Yeah.. the jsx is a tube amp..

Busted tube, I think. Open it up and check, if it's a busted tube it shouldn't cost a lot to replace.

My amp died due to a blown fuse the other time. So your fuse's the likely suspect.

It should be a 2~3amp fuse ...good to keep spare too!

yep the fuse was blown. the stock fuse is rated 3.15AL which i can't seem to find anywhere. i've bought a 3AL but gonna try my luck again later today at sim lim tower or something, see if i can find a 3.15.

update. popped in a 3AL rated fuse and everything's workin' fine. thanks once again to all softies who pm'ed / sms'ed me with tips/advice and words of comfort too! she's singin' again and impt lesson for me is...gotta learn some TLC for this little kitty...haha.

If wont even power up, means most likely its a fuse problem or the power transformer....

Dont think its a tube problem for now, cuz the amp wont even power up.
