Gear that is not available in Singapore.

I'm sure most of us here are familiar with online shopping. Personally, I would prefer buying from shops when it comes to strings and things & of course, rare guitars that pop by once in a while. However, there are just some things that we can't get to try here locally. I always believed in try before buying. Reading reviews is like taking a gamble sometimes.

I would love to try a range of Agile guitars. I've tried their fanned fret ERG and it was quite good (apart from the poor fret job). I don't mind trying their 9 string guitars which IMO is insane!

Other things that aren't available here are that I would love to try:

K-ON Vox Amplugs. Wonder if they are any different.

Curtis Novak pickups. Too bad they have no distributors.

GFS Pickups. Heard good things about them.

Amps the size of a cigarette box. how cool is that?

Shipping them over is one thing. However, I would love to try them out to hear the stuff in person to come to a conclusion. pretty selfish thought but I hope guitar stores here will try getting hold of such stuff.

Any other stuff you guys can think of that is cool but no shop here has them? It'd be nice to share.

Vintage Guitars, made in association with Trev Wilkinson:

Fret-King Guitars, owned by Trev Wilkinson:

Xaviere Electric Guitars, distributed by GFS:

All that I can think of so far. Some of these may seem to be lower end instruments but it gives beginners, or even players that are at the intermediate or advanced level who are just looking for a project guitar or a cheaper backup guitar to go for, a wide range of choices.

gil yaron lp 59 replica. am not sure if he makes stock or made to order. but i wish to see one here in singapore.

I think it's got something to do with the demand here. Considering that most Singaporeans like to bargain, whoever brings in those items better make whether the profit made is worth the effort.

I'm also the type who prefers trying before buying. Question here is, are we willing to pay?

Trying is not the same as wanting to buy. Most people try for the sake of trying without the intent to buy.

Worst are those go to guitar shops, try try try in the end don't buy, and still wonder why they being blacklisted by guitar shops, then come forum to complain.

Nothing wrong with that but I've seen people walk into guitar stores, spend a whole lot of time asking the sales people a bucket load of questions, try out a whole bunch of gear and just walk off saying let me think about it. Those people never come back.

Just wondering is there like something that is really good & inexpensive but for some reason is not available at our shores?

actually I would think they reserve the right to do so, as a customer.

It's an utter waste of time for the shopkeepers to entertain these buffoons who think they are rock stars can walk into any guitar shop try without intention to buy and act knowledgeable about guitars by asking questions about guitars.

I'd love to see a stocked up allparts/warmoth dealer! basically a shop dealing with all things DIY guitar! and even amps!

I would like to see these good, inexpensive, value-for-money guitars here......

Vintage (Advance Series) and Fret King (Blue Labels)......both by Trev Wilkinson.

I think the parts at Warmoth are too customised. It's not really practical for a store to be a dealer for Warmoth. Likewise for custom makers like USACG.

Guitar Connection is the dealer for Allparts and they are currently revising the prices for their current stocked parts. Anyway for parts that they don't have, just have to order. whatever price you see on the allparts catalog, just take the amount and multiply by 1.3. That's the price in SGD. Pretty fair considering shipping and taxes.

I think Guitar Connection is pretty much stocked up for necks and bodies. It's their job to advice you on DIYs so go ahead and ask. It's not as if they would start throwing chairs at you.

well aware bro, which is why i edited my post to further elaborate.

curious, other than the regular guitar service work, would guitar connection entertain diy projects/advice?

They will be happy to DIY up a guitar for you. Just walk in for enquiry.

History and Cool-Z guitars. Had the pleasure of trying some at Shimamura Music the last time I was at Osaka. Very good price for the quality, and it features the much-touted C.F.S(Circular Fret System) you find on the Fujigen brand guitars.

Oh yeah, Deviser, Bacchus, Navigator, and K Yairi would be great brands to see on our shore as well!
