Ibanez AS103
AS103_NT_12_01.jpg

the above guitar is a stunning new member of the Artcore Custom family, pray that it appears in the upcoming NAMM show so that it'll be available to the rest of the world 8)

the guitar features a pair of Ibanez Super 58 humbuckers which sound fantastic in the AF105 which i've tried.

Hi Sub, any clue if we're gonna see the Ibanez RGT42DXFX (neck-through, fixed bridge) on our shores?

i didnt manage to lay my hands on that RG321 during the sale :(
but now i'm thinking i might wait for something better, like the RGT42DXFX.... neckthrough and deluxe sharktooth inlays... mmmm... :P

chances are slim- mainly because it's not a model offered in this region.

also- 'better' is subjective. there's a perception that a model offered in a different construction form/ higher up the hierarchy is better than the ones in the lower rungs. but the RGT42DXFX is on my 'want' list too. 8)

arghh... the RGT42DXFX is not on my 'want' list. it's on my 'need' list

ah well, i guess i'll be looking at the RG321 again then... deciding between the mahogany oil finish and the weathered black one :P

i agree, the mahogany oil finish is a stunning guitar, i own one oil finished S-series & quite a fan of its sleek feel. however, the RG321MOL is a model not offered in this region.

double argh....
well i guess that makes my choice (or rather, lack of choice) easier

thanks for the heads up man

haha brother sub ...

could you post bass news here as well ? we bassists are a little deprived in our sub - forum.

in any case , ishibashi is having a 50% off for new year's day. they have selected items on 50% off and there is a limited quota. i have heard good vibes about the ibanez BTB's on offer and apparently no one has grabbed them yet.

any takers ? www.ishibashi.co.jp

here's good news for bass enthusiasts: Frank Bello's signature bass is out, based on the Aerodyne model. some thoughtful features:

oh yes is marty friedman gonna produce a signature sz model?

Taken from his website:

"While I was recording Music for Speeding, I approached and was approached by several guitar companies, and had the unique opportunity to try a massive amount of different guitars in the studio. I wanted a guitar that could fulfill all my needs WITHOUT being custom made. That is a big point for me. Ibanez came out on top for me, and after tons of touring and recording with them, Im confident that I made the right choice."

Yup, so i guess he isn't into a signature SZ in the time to come.

And check this out: http://www.martyfriedman.com/gallery-sub.php?sub=Gear

You'd realise the SZ520(blue) and SZ320(black) he uses are the normal ones sold in stores, nothing custom about it like he said, maybe only a change of pups. :)

some new stuff @ Swee Lee:

50th Anniversary Std Strat (Mex). List: $2,100
thought this one was never gonna make it here. played it, love everything about the guitar (the anodized gold pickguard is ultra cool) but the bridge pickup could have been better.

Epiphone Zakk Wylde Camo. list: $1,650
have not tried it yet, was being unpacked when i saw it.

Ibanez SA260. List: No change, refer to review database

Ibanez RG321 fans, this year, the guitar is offered in grey.

the AR has a new very affordable sibling this 2006, the ARX. the manufacturer claims that this is their most affordable set neck guitar, hinting at a price tag which is lesser than the SZ320's.
