new @ swee lee, the Ibanez GRG150- for those of us looking for a decent entry level unit. List: $450

FYI- the Gio series are now chinese WEF 2005. it'd be from the same factory which handles the Artcore models 8)

Just wondering, anyone here owns, owned or tried the Ibanez Rg470 before? If so, how do you find it, tone wise, and especially "feel" wise. Is the a difference between the right-handed version from the left-handed 1?

there 2 versions of the RG470: Jap/ Korean, which one are you refering to?

Tt I'm not too sure. Im not too sure sweelee carries which version, all I noe its the 1 with the edge II and not the old version with the floyd. But which have you tried? is there a difference between both of them?

i've tried all versions.

anyway, the ones you see in swee lee now sport the Edge III bridge, not the Edge Pro II.

not too much differences in tone but in functionality. the Edge models, regardless of the various manifestations, are all reliable units. avoid any with the TRS model.

Whats the diff between the edge II and III anyway? Why to ppl say tt the edge III is unreliable? juz curious..what abt the lefty version? you mean they have the new version with the edge III? Thanks for replying anyway :)

Oh yea, whats the diff between a korean made wizard II neck and a japan made 1? The table at jemsite.com shows tt theres diff measurements for the US made wizard II and the japan made 1

edge III is a reliable unit. those who dislike it just find the unit a bit stiff, compared to initial Edge/ Lo-Pro Edge vibrato. the Edge III is still a reliable system which returns notes to pitch.

Edge II Pro vs Edge III: design differences which are mainly physical. conceptually, they are very similar.

Wizard II- Japan vs Korea
FYI there are no more jap Wizard II in production, the current ones are all korean. the main differences are (korean measurements on the left):

*thicker depth @ 1st fret: 19mm vs 18mm
*thicker depth @ 12th fret: 21mm vs 20.5mm
*more curved radius: 400mm vs 430mm

Ah icic, the current rg470s, are they all made in Korea alredi?

there are no more RG4XX WEF 2005. the dark blue/ maple fretboard model at the bras basah showroom (swee lee) is the limited edition (mahogany) version which is also discontinued. it's a jap model + Wizard II neck.

that's one of the 3 'Big Block' inlay Fender releases at the summer NAMM this year. the other 2 being a strat & a P-bass (this p-bass was mentioned over at the bass forum).
