Theres loads of guitars with slanted hums. I've seen loads in kramer guitars. Van halen uses a slanted Humbucker too i think.

Score for yesterday!

No regrets for selling my RG1550 to search for a HSS guitar with a much more playable neck. My intention was to go Sweelee to try out the newly released Ibanez guitars, but this just tops them all.

Only gripe would be a lacklustre bridge pickup and perhaps a change of the tuners to locking ones for more stability. Otherwise, this plays like a dream with a very sweet neck tone which sings almost like my 62RI strat :D

Slanted pups in this matter are supposed to have: more perceived bass, less treble. Kind of a compensation factor for the lack of bass nearer to the bridge.

Pups slanted the other way do the opposite.

* Actually, looking at Darkness' guitar, his slant isn't that big. I doubt it makes much of a difference.

'Coz if I didn't take out the neck, the pickguard wouldn't fit into the body...I wanted to take the middle one out as well...but left it there fr cosmetic purposes...

The slant angle is the same as the one with a single coil pickup...so I guess there wouldn't be too big of a difference...

Man i think you made a big mistake. It will diefinetly affect the range of tones you can get from your strat dude.

But I only play with the bridge pickup...or does it matter?

if thats the case, why did you choose to get a S-S-S strat-type guitar in the first place when you end up using only the bridge pickup?

strats are considerd one of the most versatile guitars around. you should try to use the other pickups as well. it gives you a wider range of tones. which is the main reason why so many people chose to use strats.

but I guess this is where Tom Delonge's signature Strat comes to mind.

Er...back then when I first bought it, my knowledge of guitaring and guitars was pratically zero...I just liked the designs of strats, that's all...haha...
