I think the Tribute basses will be AWESOME if they are wired to Series/Parallel and single coil. Series and parallel not much diff compared to single.

read somewhere that the very very first G&L L-2000/5 basses produced somewhere in the early 80s were wired to single coil and something else , cant remember what was it.

i think maybe the 81s to 84s ?

if i m not mistaken it would be referring to these early L-2000s

note the red capped central toggle switch.

the central toggle switch for US L-2000 (current one adjusts from back to forth/ north to outh direction for either parallel/ series). note that the red capped toggle switch appears to be one that was made to be flicked sideways left and right to get the different pickup settings.

but then again am i describing an L-1000 ? hmm i tihnk i am abit confused at 1 in the morning , will sort this out tomorrow

Yeah the early ones were wired to Single and Humbucker mode (unspecified i think). What i meant was, it'll be great if they are modded to tri-mode.

ah yea ... hmmm but given that the MFD pickups are similar to the original ones.. is it possible to do a MOD it yourself ?

just a curious question, would probably like one like tt too.

haha bring it to beez to hotrod la :o
maybe 30 bucks more to a 1k bass to improve versatility.

bad news for you brother tim..

been digging up more news about the tilia core

The L2500's have a tulipwood back (basswood) with an Ash top to reduce weight. The L2000's are solid Ash. My L2000 is one of the heaviest basses I own, easily over 12 lbs.
