Fret size survey

which fret size do you prefer? hope you can take time to share. thanks.

i'm developing this quirk these days- if i strat playing with a vintage fretted guitar, i prefer not to switch to a medium/ jumbo subsequently. however, if i start with jumbos, switching to medium/ vintage isn't a problem... :smt109

I prefer Jumbo, but it usually features only on higher end Fenders.

I prefer jumbo frets because most of the guitars I usually play on them, but I don't mind anything else.

Medium, 6105. Jumbos feel clumsy to me... and i have the same preference as you, sub, when switching from size to size.

I'm used to the medium frets on my old Ibanez RX. Can't get used to the jumbos in the Saber. Still prefer the feel of medium frets. I'll probably change to medium frets when the jumbos wear out (jumbos are not "dress-friendly" anyway).

what are the advantages of the different type of frets besides personal preferences? i know that big tall frets emulate the effect of scalloped fretboards.

Strat type frets is ok to me too.

vintage fretwire is those small thin ones you find on les paul classics and the japanese strats.
