been thinking of getting a schecter damien guitar..
but i dunno whether want to buy the guitar with the floyd rose or not.

can someone help me?

my take is , if u wont be using it much then get the fixed bridge one cause FR is very troublesome if u're not used to it.

ditto- if you have the need for it, get it. some people are too bothered by the re-stringing/ tuning hassle, they've never come to appreciate it...

than i dun tink u can use a floyd rose cos when u drop d the other strings will go out of tune

actually its possible to tune to those tuning. Just a matter of playing around with the number of springs behind/position cum setting up the guitar for those tuning. Only thing is it will remain in that tuning all the way. Cant changed as like when playing halfway.

not really. to some, floyd rose is just a gimmick. sure, there are plenty of nifty effects that hanging bridge adds, but beyond those tricks you won't get any more constructive. You can wham w/ a normal bridge, just no higher pitch shifting.

and whoever says lower tunings != FR is joking. FR-equipped guitars are the most convenient to have a permanent tuning different from the standard ones. Hell, you can tune it 10 steps down practically and you'd still feel it's normal.

guttural piss, thats really subjective. but you;ve gotta change the string gauge. if not the setup is gonna be really really screwed.
