I bought this Fender Strat months back...

My bridge is currently set up in this manner:-

When I bought it(and as Swee Lee displays it),the set up was in this manner:-

I play pull ups and at the moment I can't because my floyd can dive only.I wonder whether I should send it to some shop to reoute some extra recess for my floyd to pull up...

..or should I set it up the way when I bought it so I could pull up.
Will this also affect my low action?

There should be a reason for this but I just have no idea what it is...
Sorry for asking too much,I hope you guys can help me out.
Thanks.

Your FR is a non recessed version. Don't expect a lot of pull up.

You can set it up like Swee Lee but the trem will not be @ perfect float which might result in tuning issues.

Perfect float is your base plate (that big metal plate where the saddles are sitting on, where the arm holder is attached to) perpendicular to the guitar's body.

If you want to have perfect float you have to raise your trem. The means higher action. :P

Either way, you will only earn maybe... a 1 tone pull up capability. Thats all!

Consider rounting to be a recessed trem... but get a competent tech. There might have to be changes to the neck angle. Then you can have some crazy pull up.

oh.. you don't have to route and recess the trem until like Ibanez la... just dig out a small 5mm recessed ledge behind the trem... the should earn you mabye.. a 2 - 3 tone pull up? Should not need to adjust neck angle/shim.

Thanks...

but I have no idea exactly what a shim is..haha..
My guess is it's something like a plate to rise the neck a little higher?

Great...I don't need to make any modifications to the body..

My advice is - dont do it if you're not sure. I've shimmed a Richie Sambora strat w/o being sure what are the actual effects.

Anyway I don't think shimming to get that 1/2 tone pullup is worth it. You do need a significant amount of shim - which in my opinion, is not what the shim is for. The shim is for compensating a bit when doing a particularly tricky set up.

why do u just sell this strat and get an axe with all the dive bomb / pull up capabilities ?

BTW Warmoth makes floyd friendly strat bodies wit the neck pocket pre angled so no shims needed. Good stuff, I have order lotsa necks & bodies from Warmoth direct and doe its a bit X, worf it for their quality & versatility
