just a suggestion, why softies do not make a meeting place for buyer and seller meet, like flee market. there you can look at and test items, it might be Sunday or holidays. may be able to ask the authorities to help in terms of basic amenities and security.

unlikely to happen since gear isn't that light to lug around... besides many people (including myself) won't want to bring a pile of gear for display even if they are not in use at the moment

Why not just list the item on eBay.com.sg, link to soft, and then the authorities are there for you already.

Actually this idea is possible. I don't mind bringing down my pedals and 2 or 3 guitars for a SOFT flea market. Then maybe somebody can bring their amp for testing of guitars/pedals. What do you guys think? We can suggest a SOFT event if James think that it's feasible. Or we could have this as part of SOFT Day (not sure if there is a SOFT Day) kinda carnival thingy.
