Metallica - Enter Sandman
Embarassing as it is, I'll admit it.
Back then I was this Primary 3 kid who knew jack shit about music in general, and my cousin was this major metalhead.
I still remember the day he came to school to pick me up 'cuz my parents were busy with an appointment somewhere else. By that time, even as a little kid, I was somehow already aware of Metallica's bandname (god knows how). He was flipping through the tracks on his car stereo, and scaring me shitless with the growling vocals, when suddenly, BOOM, Enter Sandman. I quite literally, if not for my childish innocence, would have gone "HOLY F*** THIS IS F***ING AWESOME."
That was my first ever taste of anything remotely close to "rock".
I received a copy of the Black Album, and a small CD rack from him for my birthday that very year (my mom almost skinned him alive for doing so, but he somehow convinced her to let me keep it). To this day, I still have that CD on my rack. I subsequently got hold of a copy of "Master Of Puppets", and I was hooked for life.
Now, over seven years from that day, three CD rack upgrades, and exposure to thousands of songs later, my musical tastes have expanded far beyond the two albums which kick-started my journey.
That cousin of mine has since given up on metal and is now a Jazz and wine bar fanatic.
